Earl Grey derives its famous flavors from oil of Bergamot (an oil from a pear-shaped citrus from the Mediterranean).
Flavored using a China Black tea which has just the right body and flavor to enhance the oil of Bergamot.

Not sure why but the flavor was just not there with these tea bags. We went out of our way to hunt the Ashby’s Earl Grey down, paid a premium, and bleh. Sad.
